We’re at a party or dinner, accompanied by a fabulous wine and the conversation is flowing smoothly. Then comes that moment when we say ‘no thanks’ to the person who is filling our glass. Not because it doesn’t taste good anymore, not because the party is no longer fun, but because we’re either going to drive after it or we’re simply fans of moderation.
The word moderation comes from the Latin moderationis, which means to regulate or govern. Nowadays, it’s more related to avoiding excesses and being prudent. Basically, it reflects our attitude of continuing only in the right measure.
“Wine in moderation” refers precisely to the responsible consumption of wine, avoiding excesses that can harm our health. Although the benefits of wine are recognised in some contexts, for example in improving blood circulation and by the presence of antioxidants, it is very important to know how to limit the amount of alcohol we are taking.

It is therefore a noble choice for each and every one of us. To enjoy the best that wine has to offer, knowing that we are the masters of our decisions: to drink or not to drink, to respect the wine we drink and, above all, to respect all those around us.
